BLOG – 64: Commercialization of Agricultural Technologies: Innovations in Business Incubation and Start Ups

Though the Indian National Agricultural Research System has initiated several measures to support commercialisation of agricultural technologies, a lot more needs to be done to strengthen these efforts. In this blog, Dr Manoj Samuel, Dr George Ninan and Dr C N Ravishanker argue for a new framework to encourage start-up companies in agriculture.

  • Startups is a buzz word and seen as important game changer in agricultural development discussions globally and more recently in developing countries including India too. So, it is appreciable effort by the authors and AESA to publish a blog on this important subject of contemporary interest. I like the this blog from the beginning itself which presents a success story in an interesting manner- to inspire and motivate those who give up very easily and dont pursue what they feel could be good for them and society at large. It becomes more special when woman takes up the challenge and she is provided the required support. We know nearly two third of the startups fail but this is no reason not to venture into the area. I congratulate the authors for an excellent write up on startups which has been dealt up so well!.
