“The priority adaptation actions for agriculture includes coordination and mainstreaming of climate change into agricultural extension; establishment and maintenance of climate change related information for agriculture; and upscaling specific adaptation and mitigation actions. There is limited capacity in personnel with specialized training to handle such emerging issues as adaptation and mitigation of climate change. Consequently, there is inadequate CSA services provided by extension service providers. In addition, CSA has received very limited attention in training institutions. There has been some effort towards mainstreaming CSA in formal training institutions at certificate, diploma, graduate and postgraduate levels but it has not been possible to enforce quality standards in the training.”
