Emerging results: Investment landscape for transforming agricultural innovation systems for people, nature and climate

Innovation in science and technology, policy, institutions and finance, will play a critical role in underpinning the transformative changes needed to address the complex challenges of future agricultural systems. Innovation is needed to meet the rapidly increasing global needs for affordable, nutritious, safe and healthy food, while protecting and improving the natural environment and promoting resilient livelihoods and social equity.

As the first step in improving investment in innovation, the Commission on Sustainable Agriculture Intensification (CoSAI) engaged Dalberg Asia to produce a global baseline of innovation investment, to understand where the investment is coming from, who is using it, how they are using it, and estimate how much is being done to promote the multiple economic, environmental and social objectives of sustainable agricultural intensification.
