Farmers require timely, accurate and location specific information and need based advisory services in relation to pest, disease, weeds and fertiliser management of their crops from agricultural experts. Intelligent Advisory System for Farmers (IASF) is a web based platform which is seamlessly integrated to mobile service delivery gateway (MSDG), connecting KVK scientists and experts from Department of Agriculture to farmers through an e-platform in order to solve farmer’s problems in real time. In this Good Practices Note, Mr Canning S Shabong, reflects on the process of development, implementation and promotion of IASF and some of the challenges it faces.
